Municipal Property

Enquiries regarding the sale or use of City of Kenora property can be directed to the Planning Department.  Some examples of how residents and/or businesses may approach the City regarding property matters are:

• Letter of Comfort - Permission to allow a portion of a dwelling or a structure to remain on City property (usually a roadway or laneway).
• Sale of a Road/Shore Allowance - In certain instances the City may sell undeveloped road allowances, subject to provisions set out in the Municipal Act.
• Lease /Purchase Arrangements - Lease of municipal property for business/institutional purposes are considered on a case by case basis. Please contact the Planning Department for more information.
