Media Release - Keewatin Library Closure

On June 28, the City and Kenora Public Library Board announced that the Keewatin Library and Keewatin Senior Centre, located on Ottawa Street, will be closed until further notice due to structural issues with the roof. The safety of residents and staff is our primary concern, and we are taking all necessary steps to address the situation with compassion and diligence.

Effective immediately, the Keewatin Library and Keewatin Senior Centre is closed.
The Keewatin Library building located on Ottawa Street has been deemed unsafe for occupancy due to a structural issue with the roof.
This building holds programming for library services as well as our Keewatin Senior Centre which will be impacted by this closure.
The City will be temporarily relocating the senior centre programming to the Keewatin Arena while there are no ice rentals in the facility and a plan for a...
