Our Municipal Emergency Control Group continues to actively monitor the rising water levels and road conditions in Kenora.
The City will begin remedial work on Sedesky Road to raise the grade commencing June 20th. The work is expected to be completed next week and support the re-opening of the road. Sedesky Road remains closed and no vehicular traffic will be permitted through the construction site.
The City will also begin remedial work to raise the grade on Coker Road East of Kelly Road next week. Coker Road at this location remains closed and no vehicular traffic will be permitted through the construction site.
The water levels on Second West Bay Road are being closely monitored and residents should be prepared for a reduction to a single lane or full road closure if the water level continues to rise.
The City will continue to monitor and assess the road conditions and water levels and update residents through the local media outlets, the City of Kenora website and the City of Kenora’s social media pages.
We understand these road closures have been frustrating for many of our residents. It is important to understand there are numerous factors that need to be considered and each situation has been evaluated and assessed by professionals who have the best interest of the City and our residents in mind. We thank everyone for their continued patience.
