The City of Kenora works on key projects to improve and maintain municipal infrastructure. These infrastructure projects are identified in the Asset Management Plan and the Capital Budget, and include:

Water and sewer upgrade projects |
Water and sewer infrastructure projects are planned for this year to address infrastructure needs. Titan Contractors was awarded the 2024 water and sewer reconstruction project. Construction is scheduled to start in early April. Residents in the affected areas will receive notices from Titan Contractors about disruptions to their water and sewer services, installation of temporary water lines, and limited access to their driveways. Keewatin Channel Bridge maintenance |
The protective coating on the bridge steel is being replaced in late summer or early fall. The coating prevents the bridge steel from rusting and requiring replacement. For steel bridges, this is regular preventative maintenance. Covered scaffolding will be in place under the bridge during the coating replacement and traffic will be minimally affected. Lakeview Drive paving project |
The first paving project of the season is to install new asphalt surfacing on Lakeview Drive between the Roundabout and the Hospital Bridge (Winnipeg River East Branch Bridge). Moncrief Construction Ltd. was the successful bidder and awarded the 2024 Paving Municipal Projects. They are committed to minimizing traffic impacts and complete the asphalt work ahead of our peak tourist season. This project includes periods of overnight work to complete the project quickly.
