Construction Sector
High demand, affordable land, and a pro-development climate create unmatched construction opportunity in Kenora
Kenora’s construction sector is propelled by a rising tide of demand, investment and innovation. Builders here help shape a city on the move, delivering housing, commercial and public infrastructure that meet the needs of a growing, vibrant community. Every project adds to the city’s forward momentum and lasting legacy.
Construction businesses based out of the City provide construction services not only to local residents, businesses, and institutions, but also to the broader region, which includes a strong seasonal residential construction industry. Between 2010 and 2022, construction permits in the City alone were valued at more than $431 million dollars. Approximately half of the value of these building permits were for commercial and governmental projects, while the other half were for residential projects.
The City has a strong demand for housing, with over 1000 units required by 2031, driven by population growth and seasonal demand.
