Keewatin Channel Bridge Weight Restriction

The Keewatin Channel Bridge currently has a vehicle weight limit due to scaffolding adjustments.

Load restrictions remain in place at 8,500 pounds (3,855 kilograms) per vehicle. Commercial vehicles over this limit must use the Highway 17A Bypass.

Emergency vehicles and buses are permitted to cross the bridge with the flow of regular passenger traffic, although no more than one emergency or bus may be on the bridge at the same time. When multiple are crossing, these vehicles are to cross only after the preceding vehicle has passed the high mid-point of the bridge.

Sealed Tenders for 2026-2029 Public Washroom and Beach Maintenance (the “Project”), Tender Number: 26-999-1 will be received by City of Kenora (the “City”) at 1 Main Street South, Kenora, ON P9N 3X2, Attention: City Clerk.

Time and date for Tender Closing is 11:00:00 a.m. CST on Thursday, February 5, 2026 (the “Tender Closing”).

  1. The work to be undertaken generally involves, but is not necessarily limited to cleaning and light maintenance of the City of Kenora public washrooms and beaches (the “Work”) as more specifically set out in the attached Instructions to Tenderers and Appendices.
  2. The documents for the Work can be obtained from the Reception Desk on the second floor of the City of Kenora Operations Building, located at 60 Fourteenth Street North, Kenora, Ontario.
  3. All written inquiries regarding the Work shall be emailed to Chris Lock, General Manager, Capital Project Delivery at clock@kenora.ca, however the bidder(s) acknowledge and agree that the City does not have an obligation to provide a response to any written inquiry and that it is in the sole and unfettered discretion of the City to provide any written response to a written inquiry. Telephone inquiries will not be replied to.
  4. Submission of a tender by a Bidder gives the City the right to require the Bidder to execute the contract to perform the Work as set out within the tender documents. Tenders may not be withdrawn after the Tender Closing and will be irrevocable and open for acceptance by the City for a period of sixty (60) days following the end of the day of the Tender Closing. The Successful Bidder will be notified in writing of the award of the Tender when the City delivers a letter of intent to the Successful Bidder.

Sealed tenders for: Building Custodial Services (2026-2029) Tender Number: 26-999-2 will be received by:

Time and date for Tender Closing is 11:00:00 a.m. CST on Thursday, January 29, 2026 (the “Tender Closing”)

  1. The work to be undertaken generally involves but is not necessarily limited to the provision of regular custodial services at six (6) City of Kenora buildings (the “Work”) as set out in the attached Instructions to Tenderers and Appendices.
  2. The documents for the work can be obtained from MERX, the City of Kenora Website, or the reception desk on the second floor of the City of Kenora Operations Centre located at 60 Fourteenth Street North, Kenora, Ontario.
  3. All written inquiries regarding the Work shall be emailed to Chris Lock, General Manager, Capital Project Delivery at clock@kenora.ca, however the bidder(s) acknowledge and agree that the City does not have an obligation to provide a response to any written inquiry and that it is in the sole and unfettered discretion of the City to provide any written response to a written inquiry. Sealed tenders for Central Park Greenspace Construction (the “Project”) Tender Number: 711-001-24A
will be received by City of Kenora (the “City”) at 1 Main Street South, Kenora, ON P9N 3X2, Attention: Deputy Clerk

Time and date for Tender Closing is 11:00:00 a.m. CDT on Thursday, January 29, 2026 (the “Tender Closing”)

  1. The work to be undertaken generally involves but is not limited to the completion of site development at the Central Community Club in Kenora, Ontario including grading, paving, drainage, supply and installation of a shade structure, lighting, plantings, sod and playground surfaces, and installation of owner-supplied playground equipment, as well as storm sewer reconstruction work along First Street South fronting the Central Community Club (the “Work”). The work is more specifically set out on the drawings and specifications included in Appendix B of the tender documents.
  2. The City's consultant for the Project is Scatliff + Miller + Murray Inc.
  3. The Successful Bidder shall achieve final performance of the Work for the Project by October 31, 2026.
  4. The drawings and specifications for the Project are included with the tender package or can be obtained from the reception desk on the second floor of the City of Kenora Operations Centre located at 60 Fourteenth Street North, Kenora, Ontario at no cost to the proponent.
  5. All written inquiries regarding the technical aspects of the drawings and specifications for the Work shall be emailed to Andrew Johnson at ajohnson@scatliff.ca  and cc’d to Stefan Stiller at sstiller@kenora.ca, however the bidder(s) acknowledge and agree that the City does not have an obligation to provide a response to any written inquiry and that it is in the sole and unfettered discretion of the City to provide any written response to a written inquiry. Telephone inquiries will not be replied to.
  6. Submitting a bid and public openings

You must submit your bid by 11 a.m. CT on the bid closing day or as listed in the tender document.

Surplus materials and equipment for auction

When the City has surplus materials or equipment, you can submit a bid to purchase the excess items through a public online auction or govdeals.com.

Bids are accepted to ensure that the City generates the highest value possible from the sale of the item. Actively participating in the auction presents a fair and transparent opportunity to purchase valuable equipment or materials through the City's Disposal of Surplus Policy.

There are no excess items. Check back regularly for bid opportunities.

Additional procurements

The Corporation of the City of Kenora intends to participate in one or more procurements conducted by Local Authority Services (LAS) between January 2025 and December 2025. For further information and access to LAS request for proposal (RFP) notices, please visit las.on.ca.

After the  closing date/time, the City will review and evaluate all the Proposals received based upon the information supplied by the Proponents in accordance with the submission requirements of the Tender or Request for Proposal.

In evaluating the proposals received, the City will consider all of the criteria listed and the City will have the sole and unfettered discretion to award based only on full compliance to the bid requirements.
