Planning and Development
The Planning Division is responsible for all matters related to planning, land use, and future development within the City of Kenora. We work with the Committee of Adjustment to make decisions and recommendations to City council on applications for amendments to the City of Kenora Official Plan and the Zoning By-law and other applications under the Planning Act.
Book a pre-consultation meeting
If you plan on submitting a planning application, it is recommended that you first have a pre-consultation meeting with the Planning team. We will help you understand when an application is required, what development can be approved, what other approvals might be needed, and what you will need to include in your application. Contact the Planning Division to book a pre-consultation meeting.
Development applications
You need to submit a development application in order to begin a new development project. Review the property and planning fees.

Municipal planning
