The City’s Economic Development and Tourism Department is launching a project to collect valuable local input that will help shape the future of housing in our community.
Kenora is facing a housing shortage that affects individuals, families, and employers across our community. Whether you're trying to find your first home, downsize, relocate, or simply secure stable housing, your experience matters.
To better understand how this challenge impacts residents and businesses, the City is conducting a short, 10-minute community housing survey. Responses are anonymous, and the input is critical in helping the City to better identify how many people are being impacted.
- Full-time and seasonal residents can share their experiences by taking the Economic Development Housing Survey.
- Local business owners are encouraged to complete the Kenora Business Survey on Housing Needs.
“Information collected through this project is essential to assist the City in addressing housing needs in Kenora,” says Stace Gander, Director of Economic Development and Tourism. “The data gathered will be used to guide future planning and support funding applications for the purpose of facilitating housing development.”
The surveys are open until June 16, 2025.
This project is supported by the Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT). The MAT is a visitor tax allocated by Council to support tourism and economic development initiatives in the City.
