Notice of Consideration for a By-law to Stop, Close, Surplus and Sell

Notice is hereby given that Council of the Corporation of the City of Kenora proposes, at its meeting to be held September 16, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., to consider a By-law to Stop Up, Close, Surplus, and Sell a portion of road allowance known as Minnesota Street and Sell certain lands within the municipality.

File: L07-25-01

Location: Portion of Minnesota Street, Kenora, ON and legally described as a part Ontario Street on M248 and being part of the south easterly part of the Minnesota and Ontario Lumber Company’s Mill Reserve, identified in the key map below as subject area.

A report will be placed on the Agenda of the Committee of the Whole on September 9, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., Council of the Corporation will then have the opportunity for consideration during their regular meeting on September 16, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.

Purpose

The purpose of the request is to stop up, close, surplus and sell a portion of Minnesota Street, to enable the development of ten (10) parking stalls, along the eastern side of Minnesota Street. The subject area is approximately 0.0171 ha in size. This request is being made to support a condition of approval on application for Minor Variance, File Number: D13-24-06, approved with conditions on September 18, 2024 by the Committee of Adjustment.
