Notice is hereby given that Council of the Corporation of the City of Kenora proposes, at a special meeting to be held on July 26, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., to consider a By-Law to Surplus and Sell certain lands within the municipality.
A by-law will be placed on the Agenda of the Committee of the Whole on July 12, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., Council of the Corporation will then have the opportunity for consideration during a special meeting on July 26, 2023.
The lands affected by the proposed by-law are located at civic address 117 Main Street South, Kenora, ON and identified in the key map.
The City of Kenora issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) in May 2023 for the subject land locally known as 117 Main Street South. The EOI closed on June 8, 2023 and one (1) submission was received for the development of a three (3) storey mixed use building, to accommodate restaurant on the main floor and four affordable dwelling units on the second and third floor.
Housing is a strategic priority of the City Council and an important component of the City of Kenora Official Plan which encourages growth in the residential component of the Harbourtown Centre to support and reinforce the community focus of the area.
