The City of Kenora is pleased to sponsor the Société Économique de l’Ontario’s (SEO) participation in the Destination Canada Mobility Forum. This international workforce recruitment event is taking place in Paris, France and Rabat, Morocco from November 18 to December 6, 2023.

Through the partnership with SEO, Kenora employers can promote job offers internationally to obtain banks of candidates for positions to be filled through the Francophone Mobility work permit program. SEO offers the following services to employers, free of charge within the framework of the Forum:

  • Promote your job offers internationally
  • Creation of candidate banks for your positions and referencing of candidates for your company
  • Support in the recruitment and selection process (as needed)
  • Support for the application process in the Francophone Mobility program
  • Support the candidate with the application
  • Support and referral to settlement services in your area when your candidate arrives

Employers must forward their job offers in Word format, no later than October 27, 2023 to Stéphanie Cotnoir at scotnoir@seo-ont.ca.

Employers in Kenora have found success with hiring through the Francophone Mobility work permit and the wrap-around services that the Société Économique de l’Ontario provides.

“As A&W continues to look at hiring employees, we looked at various options with foreign employees. The SEO program has been a good option as the opportunity to bring a French person to Canada is easy with a good support group.  We currently have one team member from Algeria through SEO. He has fit in wonderfully with our staff compliment and we are encouraged by his skills. We have another team member that is from Morocco and he is currently waiting to get his working Visa. We hope to have him in Kenora working for us early in the new year.” Says Randy Nickle, Partner of A&W in Kenora.

About Destination Canada Mobility Forum

The Destination Canada Mobility Forum is an annual event organized by the Government of Canada. The Forum allows qualified French-speaking or bilingual candidates to learn about Canada's various immigration programs and to expand their network, notably through the presence of representatives from the provinces, territories, cities and regions. SEO is dedicated to the development of Canadian Francophone communities and will also be there. The forum also facilitates putting candidates in contact with Canadian employers looking to fill positions outside Quebec.

About the Francophone Mobility work permit

The Francophone mobility work permit makes it easier for Canadian employers to hire without a labour market impact assessment, if you meet certain requirements and workers are destined to live and work outside the province of Quebec.
