Thistle Arena Rink Slab Concrete Pour

Please be advised that the Thistle Arena rink slab project has reached a key stage that will impact traffic flow and the use of some amenities at Moncrief Construction Sports Centre. 

On Tuesday, August 19, the concrete slab will be poured. This process is expected to last throughout the entire day and extend into the evening. 

Designated areas around the facility will be closed to the public to allow the pour process to proceed safely. All areas of work are marked on the attached plan. 

Important impacts include: 

• The basketball court will be closed to the public. 

• Visitor parking by the basketball court will not be available. 

• The skatepark will remain open with access from the west only. 

• The boat launches will remain open to the public; however, we recommend that boaters use other launches. There will be heavy equipment traffic and concrete delivery trucks entering the lot continuously, leading to increased congestion.
