Wild animals become a nuisance when they make their way into the City of Kenora, and especially your yard, looking for shelter and food. Our By-law Enforcement Officers do not respond to calls about nuisance wildlife.

If you feel threatened by an aggressive animal, call 911.

Non-emergencies

For non-emergency situations with bears, call Bearwise Reporting Hotline 1-866-514-2327. 

You can call the Bear Reporting Line for non-emergency situation, including if a bear is: 

  • Roaming around checking garbage cans
  • Breaking into a shed where garbage or food is stored
  • In a tree
  • Pulling down a bird feeder or knocking over a barbeque
  • Moving through a backyard or field but not lingering

Nuisances

For other nuisance wildlife on your property, please call the local Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office at 807-468-2501.

You responsible to dispose of dead animals (death by predator or other natural causes) found on your property. The Transfer Station accepts carcasses. Tipping fees apply.
