Children's Collection

We have a wide selection of children's materials available for borrowing, including the most popular series, graphic novels, and literacy developing tools such as leveled readers and decodable text. No matter what your reading level, we have something for you!

If you have a book or author suggestion for our library, we'd love to hear it! You can also browse our collection on our catalogue! From here you can login to your account (you will need your library card number and PIN, which can be provided by staff) to place holds, view your current and past checkouts, and renew your items!

We can't be open 24/7, but that doesn't mean books aren't available to you! eBooks and eAudiobooks are available night and day. Staff are available during business hours to help you get reading apps like Libby or EBSCOhost Mobile app set up on your device!

Board books

Board books are designed for children aged 0 - 4 years. Durable and made with vibrant colours and rhythmic text, these books are a great way to raise an avid reader, right from day one!

Picture books

Whether you are looking for something silly that will make you laugh, something calming to read at bedtime, or something that discusses heavy subject matter in an accessible format, we have something for everyone.

Leveled readers

These books are categorized into levels of difficulty, allowing parents and caregivers to find the perfect match based on their child's ability. Great for those just beginning to read independently.

Decodable text

Decodable texts are designed for emergent readers. Both French and English texts of different interest levels are available. Decodable texts are especially good for readers with Dyslexia.

Hi-Lo

Hi-Lo books are transitional books, for those who are ready to move on from picture books but not quite ready for full chapter books. These books feature high-interest content but with vocabulary that is just right for your emergent reader.

Series

Follow your favourite characters on their adventures with a book series! A set of 3 or more fictional chapter books which can be found in our series section.

Fiction

The children's department has so many wonderful fictional chapter books to choose from with a wide selection of genres. You are sure to find your next great read!

Graphic novels

Graphic novels can resemble chapter books in length, however their stories are told through a combination of narrative and comic style pictures. A hugely popular format among youth today!
