Collection

The Kenora and Keewatin libraries have so much to offer! Our physical collection is constantly evolving! We keep up to date with bestsellers, while maintaining our collection of classics and history. There is something here for everyone.

If you have a book or author suggestion for our library, we'd love to hear it! You can also browse our collection on our catalogue! From here you can login to your account (you will need your library card number and PIN, which can be provided by staff) to place holds, view your current and past checkouts, and renew your items! 

We can't be open 24/7, but that doesn't mean books aren't available to you! eBooks and eAudiobooks are available night and day. There are also online resources available to help you figure out what to read next! Staff are available during business hours to help you get reading apps like Libby or EBSCOhost Mobile app set up on your device!

We also house many amazing items in our Children's Collection!

Fiction books are the most popular item to be checked out from our libraries. We have something for everyone! Also, many of our series are now labeled with stickers to make it easier to find your next book!

Non-Fiction books are a reliable source for learning something new. Whether it be history, a memoir, or learning a new language or skill! Our collection is consistently being updated!

Large print

Large print books are available in many genres. We also order many new releases in Large Print. Don't let small font prevent you from reading your favourite books!

Audiobooks

Audiobooks are available in CD format, as well as electronically through the Libby App and the EBSCOhost app! Great for listening in the car on road trips, or while cooking, cleaning, or doing a jigsaw puzzle!

Jigsaw Puzzles are available to borrow for a 3-week loan.  We have small puzzles (300 pieces), medium puzzles, and large puzzles (1500 pieces).

Teens

The Teen section of our libraries have some really great books! You'll find popular series, graphic novels, and new releases! Teen book recommendations are always welcomed!

Paperbacks are a great option for travelers, beachgoers, or for those who find hardcover books too heavy. We have a fantastic selection of romance, mystery, western, fantasy, classics, and more available in paperback!

Borrow your favourite movie for the tenth time, get inspired by a documentary, or discover a new television series to watch! We've got a movie/show for everyone! Popcorn not included!

We have a large collection of yearbooks from local schools available to browse through in our reference section! Lakewood, Beaver Brae, St. Thomas Aquinas, Confederation College, and even Valleyview School!

Office collection

The Office Collection and Reference section are where we house rare or hard-to-find books. Patrons are welcome to use them in branch, however they are not available for loan.

Microfilm

Kenora Public Library has decades worth of microfilm reels of newspapers from Rat Portage and Kenora dating back to 1881. Residents are welcome to view these reels during library hours and can even print pages of the film if needed! Many of the papers are also available to view online!
