Weight and Load Limits
Each spring heavy load restrictions are in place to protect our highways and roads from damage from spring thaw conditions. The Ministry of Transportation advises of the dates the half load limits come in effect. The restriction usually begins in March and lifts at the end of May; however, the dates vary depending on the weather conditions.
You will notice the signs posted on the affected roads in the City of Kenora as listed in City of Kenora By-law 134-2021:
