Ice and Dry Pad Rentals
You can book time at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre or the Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena to hold your hockey tournament, banquet or other special event in the City of Kenora.
Ice rentals
Open ice times are available at both Moncrief Construction Sports Centre arena and Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena throughout the season. View the Ice Allocation Policy to learn how we manage and distribute ice time for all users.
In the fall and winter, there is limited ice availability at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre or Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena. To request ice availability or book the space for private events, such as parties, concerts, banquets, corporate events and sporting events, please call 807-467-2987, or email the Community Program Supervisor.
All ice bookings require full payment on the day of purchase. You can come in or pay over the phone.

View our hourly rates for ice rentals. Taxes are extra.
Prime time hours are:
- Monday to Friday, 6 to 8 a.m. and 4 to 10 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Non-prime time hours are:
- Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and after 10 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday, 6 to 8 a.m. and after 10 p.m.

Dry pad rentals
In the summer, you can book our dry pad at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre or Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena. All types of events are welcome including concerts, banquets, corporate events and sporting events.
Complete the Special Events application and submit to our Community Program Supervisor.
Application process
- Apply a minimum of three months before your event
- Prepare to include a non-refundable deposit of $500
- Purchase appropriate insurance coverage for your event
- Review all terms and conditions
Approvals and permits from outside agencies may be required by:
- Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario
- City of Kenora business licence
- City of Kenora Council
- Fire and Emergency Services
- Northwestern Health Unit food services permit
- OPP
