Fire Ban in Effect

No Outside Burning Until Further Notice

Please be advised that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) has announced a Restricted Fire Zone is in effect as of Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 12:01 a.m. local time for the Northwest region.

In collaboration with this announcement, City of Kenora Fire and Emergency Services has issued a City-Wide fire ban for the City of Kenora.

All outside burning is prohibited, including brush and grass burning, backyard fire pits, or cook stoves that use solid fuels (wood or charcoal). BBQs that use propane are permitted with extreme caution.  

All burning permits are cancelled until further notice.

The City of Kenora fire ban will remain in effect until the Restricted Fire Zone is lifted by MNRF.

Transfer Station is Open

The Transfer Station has reopened following the flood clean-up. All services have resumed and the facility is operating its regular hours.

Parking at Arenas

If you are visiting either the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre or the Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena and using the boat launches, there are designated parking areas on the property. Each lot has a specific purpose such as day-use only, long-term parking, or vehicle-trailer combinations.

Our By-Law Enforcement Officers monitor these lots daily. The enforcement process is to ticket or tow anyone who is not in compliance. Always display your permit or ticket on your dashboard, or use our pay-by-plate service.

Moncrief Construction Sports Centre

Review the parking options. Be sure to check the signs to see where you can park a vehicle with a trailer in this parking lot. 

Front lot

The front parking lots are for day use only. No overnight parking. These lots are only for Moncrief Construction Sports Centre customers and customers of Kenora Physio and Sports Injury Clinic and New Horizons Senior Centre to accommodate the needs of customers.

Boat launch lot

View the designated areas for day-use and long-term parking. Be sure to note the designated locations for single vehicles and vehicle-trailer combinations.

Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena

Review your parking options. Be sure to check the signs to see where you can park a vehicle with a trailer in this parking lot. 

Day use fee is $7.08

Purchase day use pass at the ticket machine.

You can park overnight at the Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena.

There is a maximum duration of four nights per visit. 

Purchase overnight pass at the ticket machine.

Weekly, monthly and seasonal not permitted.

Permits can be purchased at ticket machine or through the HotSpot Parking App. Seasonal passes must be purchased at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre. See the front desk for assistance. No refunds for unused parking.
