The City of Kenora offers indoor public skating and open hockey times at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre and Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena. If you want to get some exercise in the fresh winter air, there are many outdoor skating rinks in the City of Kenora.

Public skating

Open skating is great for everyone who just wants to skate. With no pucks and hockey equipment allowed on ice surface during this time, it is perfect for families and friends to get together for a skate. You can skate at the Thistle Arena and the Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena. See schedule for public skate times.

Open hockey

There are four programs to play a game of hockey. See schedule for open hockey times.

  • Adult open hockey - This ice time is for anyone who want to meet with other players to make teams to play a good ol’ game of hockey. Hockey equipment required.
  • Women only open hockey - Join us on your lunch hour and play a good game of hockey with other players.
  • 55+ open hockey - This is for anyone over the age of 55 and older to meet with other players to play a good game of hockey.
  • 65+ open hockey - This is for anyone age 65 and over to meet other hockey players to enjoy a slower paced game of hockey.

Skating

  • Tot and me - This is a great time to get your little ones on the ice and learn how to skate.
  • Cool cruise - Come enjoy an evening skate with cool music, disco lights, and some delicious food. This is partnered with the Keewatin Curling Club.
