The Kenora Recreation Centre offers indoor public skating and open hockey times. If you want to get some exercise in the fresh winter air, there are many outdoor skating rinks in the City of Kenora.

Public ice times

View the public ice times. All public ice times could change without notice.

Tot and me skate

Monday and Wednesday

2:00 to 3:30 p.m.

Kenora Recreation Centre Arena

Public skating

Tuesday

12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Thursday

12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

 14+ open hockey

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

55+ open hockey

Tuesday and Thursday

10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

Ice programs

Public skates

Come out to a public skate at the Kenora Recreation Centre. This time is open to everyone who wants to open skate. No hockey equipment allowed on the ice surface. 

Check the schedule for all public skate times. Call 807-467-2087 to book your spot. There is a maximum of 50 participants permitted.

Open hockey

There are two programs to play a game of good ol' hockey. Join others at Open Hockey 14+ and Senior Open Hockey at the Kenora Recreation Centre arena. Drop in!

Our game schedule gives you all the information you need about upcoming tournaments and games at the Kenora Recreation Centre and Keewatin Memorial Arena.

Skating programs

Learn to skate with Skate Kenora or Skate Keewatin.

Public skating code of ethics

We asked that all skaters follow our code of ethics when attending public skating.

  • no food or drink on the ice surface
  • no horseplay or games
  • no skating backwards
  • no figure skating manoeuvres
  • no erratic or excessive speed skating
  • no balls, pucks, chairs, pylons, strollers, sticks or any other item which might interfere with the safety of any skater while on the ice surface
  • no headsets, cell phones or hand held electronic devices are to be used while skating
  • no carrying of children is permitted
  • no sitting on the boards
  • skate with the direction of all skaters
  • conduct yourself appropriately at all times
  • listen and adhere to the skate patrol at all times
  • all participants must be wearing skates while on the ice surface
  • the use of a helmets are strongly recommended

If you do not follow the rules, you will be asked to leave immediately and your future ice privileges will be suspended.

Skate patrol

High school students, we can help you earn your community service hours.

If you love to skate and have strong leadership and communication skills, contact our Community Program Liaison about joining the skate patrol team!
