The Kenora Recreation Centre offers a variety of fitness classes each month led by certified instructors held in either the Aerobics Room or the Rotary Room.

Group fitness memberships

50-50

A fast and furious lunchtime cardio on the BOSU and half core strengthening. The perfect balance!

  • Tuesday, 12:05 to 12:50 p.m. with Kelli

Body balance

A Beginner-friendly, bodyweight-only class designed to help you find your centre of gravity. The class incorporates two-leg, balance, and plyometric movement to enhance your stability while building core and full-body strength.

  • Friday, 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. with Kristina

BootCamp

Designed for maximum calorie burn in the shortest amount of time. We want to get you fit, get you healthy, challenge your mind and challenge your body!

  • Thursday, 6:15 to 7:00 a.m. with Cameron

Build it

A strength–based workout using resistance bands, dumbbells, and barbells to achieve full body toning. Modifiable exercises for a range of fitness levels, from beginners to advanced exercisers.
  • Tuesday, 6:15 to 7:00 p.m. with Kristina

Dumbbell power hour

A pair of dumbbells is all you need! A full-body strength experience featuring a variety of dumbbell based strength exercises that will leave you feeling stronger and more confidents.

  • Friday, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. with Kristina

Essentrics

Essentrics is a dynamic flowing full body workout that combines stretching and strengthening. This class will increase flexibility, strength, and mobility for a healthy, toned and pain – free body. 

  • Wednesday, 12:05 to 12:50 p.m. with Karine

Essentrics gentle stretch

This class will restore movement in your joints, flexibility in your muscles, relieve pain, and increase energy. A slower – paced, gently full body workout. It is designed for those who have muscle stiffness, chronic aches and pain, recovering from injury, beginning to exercise after a long sedentary period, or simply looking for a slow and relaxed tempo class.

Full body blast

From pyramids to partner countdowns, no workout is ever the same. However, you can count on having a sweaty, smiley, fun time, every time!

  • Saturday, 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. with Kristina

HIIT

Each week we will be changing it up to include Pyramids, Crazy 8’s, Ladders and more!

  • Monday, 6:15 to 7:00 a.m. with Michelle

Pilates

A form of exercise that concentrates on strengthening the body with emphasis on your core. Get in touch with your powerhouse! Classical mat pilates is the foundation of all things pilates. Pilates improves flexibility, strength, and balance while increasing body awareness. It’s precise, repetitive, dynamic and challenging. A full body workout with lengthening stretch to finish. Improve your general fitness and overall well-being.

  • Tuesday, 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. with Sharron

Power yoga

Power Yoga is a fast – paced approach to vinyasa yoga. This class focuses on linking breath with movement, and core engagement, and will give you a great kick start to your day!

  • Thursday, 7:15 to 8 a.m. with LJ

Spin strong

Let the music keep your legs pedaling for a solid cardio workout! Add in some strength work and Voila! It’s a full body workout checked off your list!

  • Monday, 12:05 to 12:50 p.m. with Kim

Step

Let the music carry us up, down, around and over the step. We will build moves on as we get our heart pumping.

  • Thursday, 9:15 to 10 a.m. with Kim

Stretch and flow yoga

Stretch and Flow Yoga is a combination of Flow Yoga when we move with breath, and Yin Yoga where we stretch the ligaments and fascia of the body in a passive and mindful way using stillness and props.

  • Friday, 7:15 to 8 a.m. with LJ

Total x-haust

Work all muscle groups with a variety of strengthening and conditioning exercises. This athletic-based sculpting class tones upper and lower body using resistance like hand weights, TRX and your own body weight.

  • Monday, 5:15 to 6:00 p.m. with Cameron

X-train

Focusing on high repetition movements to improve cardiovascular endurance and quickly produce lean muscle conditioning.

  • Tuesday, 6:15 to 7:00 a.m. with Cameron

Yoga fit

A unique fitness – based flow yoga class designed by LJ that links breath with movement and incorporates props like light weights, bands, and balls into the yoga flow and also provides great stretching (yin) poses at the end.

  • Wednesday, 7:15 to 8 a.m. with LJ
  • Friday, 8:15 to 9 a.m. with LJ

Yoga and chill

Yoga and Chill is a combination class of flow yoga, yin and restorative poses. This is an excellent compliment to your gym regime to aid in muscle and joint maintenance, and stress management.

  • Wednesday, 8:15 to 9 a.m. with LJ
  • Thursday, 8:15 to 9 a.m. with LJ

Zumba

Combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow participants to dance away their worries. It is based on the principle that a workout should be “fun and easy to do”.

  • Wednesday, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with Nadine

Rhythm and Ride

These are farewell Rhythm and Ride sessions with Rylee. Only 19 spots! This high intensity spin class is designed to strengthen your entire body! Move together to the beat and get lost in the rhythm of the music with a curated playlist and choreography developed to motivate you and work not just only the lower body, but the core and upper body too!
