Temporary Closure of City Facilities
Staff Appreciation Event June 23, 2026
Please be advised that all City buildings and facilities, except Moncrief Construction Sports Centre, will be closed on Tuesday, June 23, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for a staff appreciation event.
You're invited to engage with members of the Council regarding issues that matter to you. Everyone is welcome to attend the Town Hall Meeting on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre,18 Mike Richards Way, in the Rotary Room. Pre-registration is required for in-person attendance.

Through the dedication of Council and more than City 250 staff, the City of Kenora is dedicated to delivering public services, administering programs, and implementing improvements that support a vibrant and resilient community.
Please be advised that Council’s Regular Committee of the Whole meeting intended to be held on Tuesday, November 18, at 9:00 a.m., has been rescheduled to Thursday, November 20, at 9:00 a.m.

Mayor Andrew Poirier and Councillor Lindsay Koch, along with Co-Chief Administrative Officers, Stace Gander and Heather Pihulak, will join more than 2,500 participants at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario's (AMO) 2025 AMO Conference in Ottawa from August 17 to 20.

The City is pleased to announce that Council has approved budget spending for key infrastructure projects during this evening's Regular Meeting, including the roof replacement for the Keewatin Public Library and repairs to the Portage Bay Bridge.
On November 19, Council approved the 2025 Capital, Solid Waste, and Water and Wastewater Utility Budgets including their respective 10-year Capital plans.
On Tuesday, May 21, Council approved the 2024 tax rates and ratios for the City of Kenora. The 2024 Capital Budget was approved on November 15, 2023, and the 2024 Operating Budget on January 29, 2024.
Council approved the 2024 Municipal Operating budget on January 29, 2024. The City of Kenora’s 2024 Capital Budget was approved on December 20, 2023. These budgets include critical projects initiated by staff, Council, and community input through the Rethinking Budgeting Survey.
