Transfer Station is Open
The Transfer Station has reopened following the flood clean-up. All services have resumed and the facility is operating its regular hours.
Please be advised that Main Street, from First Street South to Second Street South, will be temporarily closed and designated as a ‘No Parking Zone’ on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The closure will accommodate the Main Street Open Air Market,
City of Kenora crews continue to respond across the community following yesterday’s significant storm event. At this time, response efforts are focused on assessing and repairing critical municipal infrastructure and addressing public safety concerns. Residents are encouraged to submit non-emergency issues through the City’s onine Request for Service online reporting tool.
Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel. Flooded roads, standing water, fallen trees, and other storm-related hazards may affect travel throughout the community. If you must drive, use caution, and plan a safe alternate route home, as some roads may be closed or impassable.
Tourism Kenora is hosting Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026™, a once-in-a-lifetime community event at the Kenora Harbourfront and south harbourfront parking lot. The south harbourfront parking lot will be closed, and traffic and parking impacts are expected during event setup and on event day.
Please be advised that the Matheson Street bridge will be closed to all traffic and pedestrians on Monday, June 29, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Please be advised that a section of First Street North at Matheson Street North will be reduced to a single lane on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to remove a hazardous tree.
Please be advised that beginning on Monday, June 15 traffic will be reduced to one lane for approximately nine meters on the east side of Hennepen Lane, north of Second Street South.
Please be advised that a culvert will be replaced on Austin Lake Road on Tuesday, June 9, starting at 9:00 a.m. There may be traffic delays during the replacement work. Motorists are advised to follow traffic control in the work area.
Please be advised that a culvert will be replaced on Duffus Road on Monday, June 8, starting at 9:00 a.m. There may be traffic delays during the replacement work.
Please be advised that the spring load restrictions put in place on March 29, 2026 on local roads will be terminated in coordination with the Ministry of Transportation, effective Friday June 5, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
