Road Closures

Please be advised that the Boatlift Road boat launch on the Lake of the Woods side and a portion of the parking lot will be temporarily closed from November 9 to 13 for rehabilitation work on the boat launch.

Please be advised that downtown roads will be temporarily closed on Saturday, November 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., for the Kenora Kinsmen Club Santa Claus Parade.

Sixth Street South, between First Avenue South and Second Avenue South, will be closed to all traffic Wednesday, October 21 at 4:30 p.m. to Thursday, October 22 at 5:00 p.m. The closure is necessary to allow for water main repairs. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes to avoid the work site. 

Please be advised that beginning October 20, and continuing through the end of October, Municipal Bridge Inspections will take place on select municipal bridges. Engineers will be using rope access techniques and inspection trucks, and may be seen climbing or working above and below bridge decks to complete their assessments. Some bridges are expected to have lane closures.

Please be advised that the Municipal Bridge Maintenance Program will begin on Monday, September 14, 2026, and continuing through November.  Maintenance activities will take place on ten municipal bridges throughout the City to help ensure they remain safe and in good condition.

Please be advised that there will be intermittent traffic delays starting at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8,  as crews will repair potholes at the Harbourfront Roundabout and along Main Street South to McClellan Avenue.

Please be advised that Fourth Street North, from Veterans Drive to Main Street North, will be closed to all traffic from Tuesday, September 22 at 8:00 a.m. to Wednesday, September 23 at 4:00 p.m.

Road rehabilitation work on Carlton Road will begin on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. The project will be completed in two phases and will include culvert replacement, graveling and ditching. Road closures will be required during each phase. Motorists are asked to follow posted detour signs during the road closures.

Please be advised that Chipman Street near First Street South will be closed to all traffic on Wednesday, September 23, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Please be advised that a portion of Bernier Drive, the sidewalk, and parking spaces directly behind TD Bank will be closed to all traffic from Monday, September 21, 2026 to Friday, October 2, 2026.
