Municipal Bridge Maintenance Program

Please be advised that the Municipal Bridge Maintenance Program will begin on Monday, September 14, 2026, and continuing through November.  Maintenance activities will take place on ten municipal bridges throughout the City to help ensure they remain safe and in good condition.

During the maintenance activities, motorists may experience minor traffic delays. The length of impact will vary depending on the type of work being completed at each bridge. 

The schedule will begin at the following locations:

Bay Street Overpass

• September 14 to 22
• Bay Street will be temporarily closed
• Highway 17 West will remain open 

First Avenue South Bridge 

• October 2 to 7
• Single-lane traffic will be in place, with the northbound lane closed first, followed by the southbound lane

Updates on the maintenance schedule for the remaining eight bridges will be posted on the City's social media channels and in our News and Notices as the work progresses.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to follow posted signage and use caution in work zones to keep everyone safe.
