Municipal Bridge Maintenance Program

Please be advised that the Municipal Bridge Maintenance Program began on Monday, September 14, 2026, and will continue through November. Maintenance activities will take place on ten municipal bridges throughout the City to help ensure they remain safe and in good condition.

During the maintenance activities, motorists may experience minor traffic delays. The length of impact will vary depending on the type of work being completed at each bridge. The schedule is subject to change.

The updated schedule as of October 16, 2026 for following locations is:

Darlington Bridge

• September 28 to October 15
• Single-lane traffic will be in place, with the northbound lane closed first, followed by the southbound lane

Matheson Street South Bridge

• October 5 to 13
• One-way traffic, south bound lane active, north bound lane detour in place.

Eighth Avenue South Bridge

• October 13 to 28
• Crews will demobilize site for the weekend of October 16 to 18, and will return on Monday, October 19,  to continue maintenance activities.
• Single-lane traffic will be in place, with the westbound lane closed first, followed by the southbound lane

Winnipeg River East Branch Bridge

• October 29 to November 11
• Single-lane traffic will be in place, with the westbound lane closed first, followed by the southbound lane

Winnipeg River West Branch Bridge

• October 29 to November 11
• Single-lane traffic will be in place, with the westbound lane closed first, followed by the southbound lane

Watch for signs and signals

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to follow posted signage, traffic signal lights, and use caution in work zones to keep everyone safe.
