All City buildings and facilities are closed on Monday, October 12, 2026 for Thanksgiving Day holiday.

Please be advised that the Municipal Bridge Maintenance Program will begin on Monday, September 14, 2026, and continuing through November.  Maintenance activities will take place on ten municipal bridges throughout the City to help ensure they remain safe and in good condition.

Please be advised asphalt crack sealing and sidewalk grinding work will be starting on October 3, 2026 at various locations throughout the City.

The City of Kenora is now accepting applications through its Community Improvement Plan (CIP) for projects planned in 2027. The intake period will be open until November 30, 2026, providing property owners, businesses, developers, and entrepreneurs with an opportunity to access grants and incentives that support investment, revitalization, and growth throughout the community.

The Kenora Public Library is excited to host our Ducky Cosplay Contest!

Pick up a duck from the Kenora Public Library and take it home to make it a costume. From superheroes, to anime, to storybook characters - the limit is your imagination!

Finished ducks will be displayed at the Library from October 21st to October 28th. Three winners will be selected, one from each age category: Kids (12 and under), Teens (13-18), and Adults (19+).

The City of Kenora and Kenora Makwa Patrol are partnering once again to collect warm items for those who need them most in a Winter Warmth Drive. Donate your clean, gently used, warm items at the Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre, 931 Lakeview Drive, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., seven days a week. We are closed on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Chess Club is back this fall at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre. Our Early Fall Chess Club runs Tuesdays from October 13 to November 10, with options for both youth training and open social play.
