The City’s Economic Development and Tourism Department, in partnership with the Harbourtown BIZ, are thrilled to bring back the popular ‘Glad You Are Here’ summer attraction, a series of vibrant art installations from WKNDRS. This year’s displays include five new popsicle-shaped installations that will be “popping” up throughout downtown Kenora.
The City is excited to invite residents and visitors to a special celebration honouring the recent enhancements at Norman Park! Join us near the beach playground on Thursday, June 26 at 5 p.m. for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony spotlighting the new accessible paved pathway and updated playground to the Norman Park Beach.
The City is proud to join a national movement of hope as we welcome the National Ride of Hope team on Friday, June 20. As part of the 45th Anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope, this remarkable cross-country journey sees cyclists traveling 7,000 km from Vancouver to St. John’s in support of cancer research.
The City is excited to announce an upcoming renovation project at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre (MCSC) that will modernize and improve the facility for residents and visitors alike. On Tuesday, May 20, Council approved the 2025 tax rates and ratios for the City. The 2025 Capital, Solid Waste, and Water and Wastewater Utility Budgets were approved on November 19, 2024, and the 2025 Operating Budget on March 18, 2025.
The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) depot at the Transfer Station is conveniently moving to Saturdays, starting June 7 and continuing every Saturday until the end of September. The HHW depot hours will remain the same - open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
