Please be advised that parking at Garrow Park will be limited on Friday, August 14 and Saturday, August 15 as the Kenora Rowing Club hosts the North West International Rowing Association (NWIRA) Championship Regatta on Rabbit Lake.
The Restricted Fire Zone announced by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) on July 15, 2026, remains in effect for the Northwest region. All outside burning is prohibited, including brush and grass burning or backyard fire pits. Gas or fuel stoves, charcoal, and wood burning stoves or furnaces are permitted with extreme caution and only under specific conditions.
Please be advised that Trans Canada Highway 17 East is at Jones Road and Matheson Bay Road has been reopened. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during today's closure.
Please be advised that Trans Canada Highway 17 East is currently closed at Jones Road and Matheson Bay Road due to a motor vehicle collision. Motorists are being detoured via Jones Road.
Registration is now open for the Kenora 2026 Twilight Summer Cricket League! Whether you're completely new to cricket or have years of experience, this City-facilitated recreational league is designed for players of all skill levels.
Please be advised that water service has been temporarily shut off to allow for an emergency valve replacement affecting customers on Mikado Avenue, Mascott Avenue, and Regina Avenue.
On Monday, August 3, the following City facilities are open: Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Jarnel Contracting Pavilion, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and The Muse,10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission.
Please be advised that traffic will be reduced to one lane on Essex Road to Beauty Bay Road for surface treatment beginning on Friday, July 31 at 9:00 a.m.
Portage Bay Bridge will not reopen at the end of July. While planned repair work has been completed, stress monitoring equipment installed on the bridge has shown that portions of bridge’s original steel are not behaving as predicted. For public safety, the bridge will remain closed. Please continue to follow detour signs, barriers, and use alternative routes. The City is committed to the safe reopening of the Portage Bay bridge and the City is actively working towards a solution.
The City of Kenora, in partnership with the Kenora Rotary Club, invites residents and visitors to celebrate the official Grand Opening of the Coney Island – Kenora Rotary Club Playground on Tuesday, August 4 at 2:30 p.m. The new playground transforms Kenora’s beloved waterfront destination into a more inclusive place where children and families of all abilities can play, connect, and explore together.
