Frost Bites, Kenora's annual winter culinary event, kicks off today and runs all March long.
The City of Kenora has launched the online Kenora Leisure Guide. This dynamic portal makes it easy for locals of all ages to discover sport, recreation, leisure, arts and culture, and volunteer activities across the Kenora area.
On February 17, 2026, City Council approved the 2026 municipal operating budget which will see a modest 3.74% net tax levy increase. City Council and Administration approach the annual budgets with a focus on maintaining existing services while also addressing the needs of future generations.
Take notice that the Council of the City of Kenora passed By-law No. 18-2026 and By-law No. 19-2026 at a meeting on February 17, 2026, under Section 28 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended. By-law No. 18- 2026 designates the entire City as a Community Improvement Project Area, and By-law No.19-2026 adopts a new Community Improvement Plan (CIP) for the City of Kenora.
Please be advised that Matheson Street South from the corner of Matheson Street South for approximately 50 meters east on First Avenue South will be closed to all traffic on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
On Family Day, Monday, February 16, the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre is open from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Check out the Family Day activities planned or follow them on Facebook. All other City buildings are closed for the holiday, including the Transfer Station. Additionally, The Wave microtransit service does not operate on the holiday.
The City is thrilled to celebrate a record-breaking result for the 2025 Holiday Trail. Building on the momentum from last winter’s historic 2024 campaign, which earned the City a Marketing Canada Award from the Economic Developers Association of Canada, the 2025 Holiday Trail surpassed those award-winning numbers.
The City’s on-demand transit service, The Wave, has achieved a major milestone, having delivered more than 60,000 rides since launching in October 2024.
Council will hold a Public Meeting under s. 51 of the Planning Act to consider a proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision affecting lands located on Johnson Road.
Snow removal will take place in the Keewatin area, starting at May Avenue and working westerly, on Monday, February 9, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
