Municipal Bridge Inspections
Please be advised that beginning October 20, and continuing through the end of October, Municipal Bridge Inspections will take place on select municipal bridges. Engineers will be using rope access techniques and inspection trucks, and may be seen climbing or working above and below bridge decks to complete their assessments.
The following bridges are expected to have lane closures:
Winnipeg River East Branch Bridge
- October 20, 2026
- Single-lane traffic will be in place, with the Eastbound lane closed first, followed by the westbound lane.
Matheson Street Bridge
- October 21, 2026
- Single-lane traffic will be in place, with the northbound lane closed first, followed by the southbound lane.
Parsons Street Bridge
- October 22, 2026
- Single-lane traffic will be in place, with the Northbound lane closed first, followed by the southbound lane.
Municipal bridge inspections are conducted to assess the condition of bridge structures and support long-term asset management planning.
The maintenance work currently underway addresses repairs and improvements identified through previous inspection cycles, while this year's inspections will help inform future maintenance and rehabilitation priorities.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to follow posted signage and use caution in work zones to help ensure the safety of workers and the public.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation while this inspection work is carried out.
