Road Closures

The City of Kenora recently updated the News and Notices webpage. During the update, a technical error caused all website subscribers to receive a re-notification for recent news posts. We emphasize that there was no security breach or hacking. We appreciate your interest in staying informed and are taking steps to prevent similar issues in the future. Please be advised that traffic will be reduced to one lane on Rabbit Lake Road between Mellick Avenue and Universal Drive on Wednesday, November 12, and Thursday, November 13, starting at 9:00 a.m. for ditching work. 

Please be advised that traffic will be reduced to one lane on Transmitter Road, between 101 and 215 Transmitter Road, on Wednesday, November 5, starting at 9:00 a.m. for ditching work. 

Please be advised that the back lane of Sixteenth Avenue North and Seventh Avenue North will be closed intermittently on Monday, November 3, starting at 9:00 a.m. to repair a storm drain.

Please be advised that Greenwood Drive/Road will be closed intermittently on Friday, October 31, 2025 starting at 9:00 a.m. to put in a culvert.

Please be advised that the westbound lane of the Keewatin Channel Bridge will reopen on Tuesday, November 4, due to significant rain and wind.

Please be advised that a section of Wharf Street and the Keewatin Wharf will be closed to all traffic beginning Saturday, October 25 at 7:00 a.m. to begin staging for the upcoming repairs to the Portage Bay Bridge.

Please be advised that First Avenue South between Sixth Street South and Seventh Street South will be closed to all traffic on Tuesday, October 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for emergency manhole repairs.

Please be advised that a section of First Avenue South at Matheson Street South for 60 meters will be closed to all traffic beginning Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. until Friday, October 24.

Please be advised that final paving works have started on Ninth Street North between Mellick Avenue and Scramble Avenue. Paving will occasionally interrupt traffic flow, including reducing traffic to one lane, from October 8 to October 10, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
