Changes to Transfer Station Fees 2026

Please be advised that effective January 1, 2026, Transfer Station fees will increase by 2.5% overall. This increase has been approved by Council in the 2026 Solid Waste Utility Budget.

The new fee structure will impact scale loads, fees for when the scale is out of service, and other commercial service fees. For instance, customers will be charged $23.70 for a load weighing up to 250 kg, $142.00 per tonne for loads weighing over 250 kg, and $101.00 per tonne for materials redirected to the Kenora Area Landfill on Jones Road.

The cost of a bag tag will increase by $0.15 to $2.75 per bag.

The budget increase aims to improve revenue stability and ensure that the municipality can continue to provide the same level of garbage collection and solid waste management to its residents.
