City and KDSB Seek Collaboration to Address the Needs of the Unsheltered
The City of Kenora and Kenora District Services Board (KDSB) have issued a call to action to the All Nations Health Partners to come together in the spirit of collaboration to find long-term solutions to the service gaps in our community to support those who are unsheltered and experiencing homelessness.
The City and KDSB strongly encourage the All Nations Health Partners to pool their resources to close the current four-hour service gap in the late afternoon and early evenings to ensure that there are warming and cooling centres and other related supports open 24 hours a day in Kenora year-round.
Each partner at the All Nations Health Partner table is affected by this ongoing gap in our community. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the Partners worked collaboratively to close gaps for our vulnerable community members; the City and KDSB are asking the Partners to rise to the occasion once again.
The current homelessness and housing crisis faced by the City of Kenora, and surrounding community is a health and human services crisis that will require all the partners to work together to find long-term solutions.
