Curbside Pick-up Areas Change for Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Please be advised that curbside pick-up areas for recycling and garbage on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be refined starting on Tuesday, April 21.

The new schedule is as follows:

• Tuesday – Downtown and south of Ninth Street North to Laurenson Creek
• Wednesday – Lakeside and Jaffray Melick south of the By-pass

Residences and businesses currently on the Wednesday route will move to Tuesdays. Those currently on the Tuesday route will move to Wednesdays.

This strategic schedule change will help our crews collect recycling and garbage more efficiently and safely, especially during busy summer months. By making this switch, we aim to reduce traffic congestion downtown and improve overall collection service.

As a reminder, all recycling and garbage must be at the curb by 8:00 a.m. on your collection day to ensure pick-up. 

Garbage bags must have a City of Kenora bag tag attached. Place garbage bags next to your recycling cart, not inside it. 

For recycle, the new 360-litre recycling cart must be placed so that the wheels face towards your home and the lid opens toward the street. Ensure the cart is at least 3 feet (1 metre) in front of or beside fences, vehicles, or other obstacles. Place your cart on a flat surface that is clear of snow and ice.
