Keewatin Channel Bridge Repair and Recoating Project, Single Lane Alternating Traffic

Please be advised that important scaffolding construction work will begin taking place from the topside of the Keewatin Channel Bridge starting Thursday, October 9, in the Westbound traffic lane for approximately three weeks.

During this time, the Westbound lane will be closed, and traffic will alternate in the Eastbound Lane, safely managed with signal lights, signage and occasional flaggers.

The City has explored every alternative to this lane closure and are working closely with our contractor to minimize the duration. Working over a navigable waterway creates unavoidable construction challenges.

We kindly ask motorists exercise extra caution and patience, reducing speed to 40 kilometers per hour while travelling through the work zone.

The lane re-opening is anticipated for October 30. Further updates will be provided.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding while this major capital project gets into full swing.
