Keewatin Channel Bridge Repair and Recoating Project Westbound Lane Closure

Please be advised that starting Friday, November 21, 2025, the Westbound lane of the Keewatin Channel Bridge will close for the next phase of the Bridge Repair and Recoating Project.

During the closure, traffic will alternate in the Eastbound lane with traffic signal lights, signage, and occasional flaggers.

The Keewatin Channel Bridge Repair and Recoating Project includes steel shot blasting to remove corrosion, steel repairs, and paint coating. 

Work will continue through the winter. For the next phase, heating and blasting equipment must be placed in the Westbound lane to be near the work. It is not possible to support this equipment from below.

Motorists are reminded to exercise caution and patience, follow posted signage, stay alert to their surroundings, and drive to weather and site conditions.

The Westbound lane will reopen in December for holiday travel, then close again in January 2026 to continue construction. Further updates will follow.
