Keewatin Channel Bridge Site Preparation

Please be advised that site preparation for the Keewatin Channel Bridge steel recoating and repair project will begin the week of September 15, 2025.

This work marks the initial stage of the project and includes clearing space around the east and west bridge landings, as well as beneath the bridge, to allow for equipment and materials staging and setup.

Crews will begin preparing the site for construction activities, including clearing space and vegetation under the bridge, including the removal of select trees, and mobilizing equipment to allow safe and efficient access to the work zone.

At this stage, no traffic interruptions are anticipated, and the waterways will not be affected by these activities.

Motorists are asked to exercise caution and to reduce speed in work zones for everyone’s safety.

Further updates will be provided as the project progresses.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as this important infrastructure work gets underway.
