Keewatin Channel Bridge Weight Restriction

The Keewatin Channel Bridge currently has a vehicle weight limit due to scaffolding adjustments.

Load restrictions remain in place at 8,500 pounds (3,855 kilograms) per vehicle. Commercial vehicles over this limit must use the Highway 17A Bypass.

Emergency vehicles and buses are permitted to cross the bridge with the flow of regular passenger traffic, although no more than one emergency or bus may be on the bridge at the same time. When multiple are crossing, these vehicles are to cross only after the preceding vehicle has passed the high mid-point of the bridge.

Frost Bites, Kenora's annual winter culinary event, kicks off today and runs all March long.
Nine local restaurants are serving up creative twists on three fan favourites, burgers, pizza, and tacos and the best part? You can enjoy all three features at every participating location throughout the entire month.

How it works

  • Receive a stamp on your passport
  • Each stamp equals one ballot toward our grand prize draw
The more you try, the more chances you have to win!
Passports are available at City Hall, the Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre, and all participating restaurants.
Completed passports must be dropped off at the Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre by Wednesday, April 15 at 12:00 p.m. The winner will be announced shortly after.
