Keewatin Channel Bridge Weight Restriction

The Keewatin Channel Bridge currently has a vehicle weight limit due to scaffolding adjustments.

Vehicles weighing up to 8,500 pounds, including passengers and cargo, may continue to use the bridge via the signalled alternating traffic in the Eastbound lane.

All commercial vehicles weighing over 8,500 pounds must use the Highway 17A Bypass. 

Emergency vehicles and buses are permitted to cross the bridge with the flow of regular passenger traffic, although no more than one emergency vehicle or bus may be on the bridge at the same time.

Main Street South Road Closure for Filming

Please be advised that Main Street South between Second Street South and Third Street South will be closed to traffic on Saturday, December 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the Come Together Kenora for HGTV’s Home Town Takeover Canada video shoot.

Everyone is invited to participate in the video shoot on December 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Main Street Christmas Tree. Bring your family and friends to show off Kenora’s community spirit and be part of the “Home Town Takeover Canada, Come to Kenora” video.
