Making AI Work for You Keynote and Workshop with Avery Swartz

The City of Kenora’s Economic Development and Tourism Department is excited to host two professional development events on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, designed to support Kenora’s business community with clear, real-world Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. Avery Swartz, AI educator and best-selling author, will deliver a practical keynote on AI opportunities and ethics, followed by a hands-on workshop to help entrepreneurs save time, enhance customer experiences, and drive smarter growth.

Beyond the Buzz: The Future of AI Adoption Keynote

In this empowering and practical keynote, Avery Swartz delivers a clear-eyed, practical look at what AI means for your work today and how to prepare for what comes next. This keynote takes the hype out of AI, explains what generative AI actually is, and guides attendees through ethical considerations, bias, privacy, and copyright concerns. Attendees will gain actionable strategies to adopt AI responsibly, ethically, and inclusively, with a mindset geared toward leadership in their organisations.

Hands-On AI Prompting Techniques for Small Business Workshop

In this three-hour, hands-on session, small-business owners gain practical AI capabilities for everyday tasks. Through guided exercises using AI chat tools, participants will learn new strategies for improving AI outputs, identify time-saving workflows, and leave ready to apply AI solutions across their business.

Note: This is a BYOL (bring-your-own-laptop or tablet) workshop. Remember to bring its power cord.
