Keewatin Channel Bridge Weight Restriction

The Keewatin Channel Bridge currently has a vehicle weight limit due to scaffolding adjustments.

Vehicles weighing up to 8,500 pounds, including passengers and cargo, may continue to use the bridge via the signalled alternating traffic in the Eastbound lane.

All commercial vehicles weighing over 8,500 pounds must use the Highway 17A Bypass. 

Emergency vehicles and buses are permitted to cross the bridge with the flow of regular passenger traffic, although no more than one emergency vehicle or bus may be on the bridge at the same time.

Santa Claus Parade Road Closures

Please be advised that the following roads will be temporarily closed on Saturday, November 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., for the Kenora Kinsmen Club Santa Claus Parade:

  • First Street South;
  • Park Street;
  • Chipman Street;
  • Second Street South; and
  • Main Street South.

If you are attending the parade, please park in designated areas that do not interfere with the parade route. Also, please make sure there is enough space for emergency vehicles to pass through if necessary.

We appreciate your cooperation in making this a safe holiday event for everyone.
