The Thistle Arena is not the only feature that makes the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre one of our most enjoyable facilities year round. We have an indoor walking track. Outside is buzzing with court sports, a skatepark, and boat launch.
Inside Amenities
Walking track
Temporarily closed during the Thistle Arena Slab Project until fall 2025.
Get your steps in without worrying about rain, snow or ice. Thanks to the Rotary Club of Kenora, the walking track has a special floor surface to lessen the impact on your joints.
Open daily 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Closed on public holidays and for special events.
Walking track courtesy rules
- Sign in at the front desk.
- Slower traffic keep to the inside rail of the track to allow runners and faster walkers to keep their pace.
- Runners must use outside lane.
- Stay in single file.
- Larger crowds should space themselves.
- Be alert when stopping or slowing down.
- Do not block traffic.
- Do not race or do sprint workouts when the track is busy.
Outdoor amenities
Baseball fields
Play softball or hardball at the baseball diamonds outside the Rec Centre. Rent the diamonds for your next tournament or league game.
Basketball court
Come shoot some hoops or jump-in on a pick-up game with friends. Located near the skatepark.
Boat launch
Launch your boat at our two fully paved and accessible boat ramps. This is a popular spot to get on the Lake of the Woods with loading and unloading docks, washrooms and paid vehicle parking.
Skatepark
Meet up with your buddies to use this full size skatepark. There is no fee to enjoy the ramps, rails, and bowls on your board or bike.
Tennis courts
There are four full size tennis courts for your use. There is no fee to use the courts.
