Credit Card Processing Fee Implementation

Please be advised of an upcoming change to credit card payments effective May 1, 2026.

A 2% processing fee will be applied to payments made by credit card. This fee is necessary to cover transaction costs charged to the City by credit card providers.

Key details:

• The processing fee applies only to payments made by credit card.
• There is no change to payments made by debit card, cash, cheque, or other approved payment methods.
• This processing fee will appear as a separate line item on your receipt.

Implementing the processing fee will help the City manage rising transaction costs while maintaining essential services and keeping general tax rates as stable as possible.
