Notice of 2026 List of Certified Candidates

The City of Kenora is pleased to announce that the candidate nomination period for the 2026 Municipal Election has officially closed.

In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (s. 35(2)), nominations were accepted between May 1, 2026, and Nomination Day on August 21, 2026. During this period, prospective candidates submitted the required nomination papers, declarations, and fees for municipal office.

Following a review of all submissions, the City Clerk/Returning Officer has confirmed that the candidates listed for each office have met the qualifications and nomination requirements set out in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. As a result, their nominations have been certified, and they are officially recognized as candidates in the 2026 Municipal Election.
