Notice of Application and Meeting for Official Plan Amendment D09-26-01

Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kenora will hold a Public Meeting to consider a proposed Official Plan Amendment under City of Kenora Official Plan, 2015, as described below and with subject lands shown on the map below.

Description of proposal

The purpose and effect of the proposed Official Plan Amendment is to change the Official Plan designation from Industrial Area to Established Area to permit institutional, residential, and commercial developments on the subject lands. The amendment is being brought forward by the owner to support the future Campus of Care development on the former Kenora Forest Products site.

Public meeting

When: Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 12:00 p.m.
Location: Council Chambers, City Hall, 1 Main Street South, Kenora, ON

Council will consider the application decision at its Regular Meeting on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. That meeting will also be livestreamed on our Agenda and Minutes page.

Right of Appeal

If a person or public body would otherwise have the ability to appeal the decision of Council to the Ontario Land Tribunal but does not make oral or written submissions before the by-law is passed, that person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision, and may not be added as a party to a hearing unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
