Traffic and Parking Advisory - Community Event July 6 and 7, 2026

Tourism Kenora is hosting Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026™, a once-in-a-lifetime community event at the Kenora Harbourfront and south harbourfront parking lot.

The south harbourfront parking lot will be closed, and traffic and parking impacts are expected during event setup and on event day.

July 6: event Setup - traffic impacts 

On Monday, July 6, equipment deliveries and unloading will take place at the harbourfront and the south harbourfront parking lot as crews prepare for the event. 

  • Expect increased vehicle activity
  • Use caution on Bernier Drive
  • Temporary traffic interruptions may occur 

July 7: event day - what to expect 

On Tuesday, July 7, the downtown core will be bustling with energy. Plan ahead for heavier traffic around the harbourfront throughout the day. Parking may be limited. Attendees are advised to: 

  • Arrive early
  • Consider carpooling or alternative transportation
  • Plan your parking in advance 
  • Free parking is available along the greenbelt and Moncrief Construction Sports Centre

July 7: event highlights

  • Live screenings of two FIFA World Cup™ Round of 16 matches (kickoffs at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., teams to be determined)
  • Soccer activations and challenges
  • Sponsor activations
  • Photo opportunities
  • Beer gardens
  • Food trucks
  • Live music
