Fire Ban in Effect

No Outside Burning Until Further Notice

Please be advised that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) has announced a Restricted Fire Zone is in effect as of Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 12:01 a.m. local time for the Northwest region.

In collaboration with this announcement, City of Kenora Fire and Emergency Services has issued a City-Wide fire ban for the City of Kenora.

All outside burning is prohibited, including brush and grass burning or backyard fire pits. Gas or fuel stoves, charcoal, and wood burning stoves or furnaces are permitted with extreme caution and only under specific conditions. 

All burning permits are cancelled until further notice.

The City of Kenora fire ban will remain in effect until the Restricted Fire Zone is lifted by MNRF.

Transfer Station Temporarily Closed

Please be advised that the Transfer Station is temporarily closed until further notice due to a cardboard fire.

Kenora Fire and Emergency Services are on site extinguishing the fire.

We appreciate your patience and will notify the public when the Transfer Station reopens.
