Please be advised that there may be traffic delays in the downtown core on Saturday, June 28, between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Kenora Pride is organizing a march that starts at Husky the Muskie. The route will take participants along the Harbourfront to Main Street South, turning at Second Street South to Bernier Drive, and ending at the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion at the Kenora Harbourfront.

Main Street South and First Street South Single Lane Traffic

Please be advised that the intersection of Main Street South and First Street South will be reduced to one lane on Thursday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m. until Friday, June 27 at 5:00 a.m. for paving works.
Traffic control will be in place during this time. Motorists are advised to proceed cautiously and follow traffic control.

Coney Island Residents Affected by Power Outage Urged to Conserve Water

On June 25, 2026, SYNERGY NORTH announced a power outage affecting approximately 100 Coney Island residents. Power restoration is expected to be complete by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
The City urges Coney Island residents affected by this outage to conserve water until power is restored to prevent overloading grinder pumps, which could lead to sewer spills.

Norman Park Beach Temporary Closure

Please be advised that Norman Park beach will be temporarily closed on Friday, June 27, to allow for the installation of Hoopla Island.
The playgrounds, washrooms, accessible paved path, and Kenora Rotary Splash Park will remain open.
Please watch for equipment moving from the parking lot to the beach and keep a safe distance to allow Hoopla Island to complete its work.
We thank the public for their patience as the seasonal recreation amenity prepares to open for the summer.
Coney Island Recycle and Garbage Collection Cancellation

Please be advised that due to weather conditions, Coney Island garbage and recycling pick-up has been postponed until tomorrow, Tuesday, June 24.
If you have items to dispose of immediately, you can bring them to the Transfer Station, 401 Mellick Avenue. Garbage bags must have an attached City of Kenora bag tag. Accepted recycle items can be deposited at the Recycle Depot for free. The Transfer Station is open every day, except holidays.
