National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day

In recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, all City facilities, with the exception of The Muse, will be closed on Saturday, September 30. The Moncrief Construction Sports Centre will open at 6:00 p.m. for the SIJHL hockey game.
On Monday, October 2, City Hall and Operations Centre will be closed to recognize the civic holiday.
City Staff are continuing their journey in learning the truth of our history, during Truth and Reconciliation Week through staff education participation....
Splash Park Closing for the Season

Please be advised that the last day of operation for the Rotary Splash Park will be Sunday, September 24.
City staff will begin winterizing the water features on Monday, September 25.
Thank you to Kenora Rotary Club for their ongoing support of the Splash Park.
We look forward to the re-opening in the spring of 2024.
Utility Services During Power Outage on October 1, 2023

Please be advised that Synergy North has scheduled a city-wide power outage on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The power outage will impact City Utility Services as follows:
Water and Wastewater- The City’s Water and Wastewater Systems will remain active but on reduced standby power. Customers may notice reduced flow and water pressure during the outage. Lakeside Construction Works and Traffic Congestion

Please be advised that there are several construction works that are taking place in the Lakeside area that is causing significant traffic congestion.
Some of this roadwork was planned infrastructure upgrades that were scheduled to take place, and other areas such as the Safeway bridge (First Avenue South) closure is an emergency water main break that is taking significantly longer to repair than initially anticipated.
Please understand that the contractors and City staff are working diligently...
Coker Road, East of Kelly Road, Reopens

The City of Kenora is pleased to share that the repair work on Coker Road, East of Kelly Road, has been completed and the road is open.
Driver's will notice reduced speed signage requiring a maximum travel speed of 30 km/h.
Water levels in the area are still experiencing minor fluctuations.
The City's Engineering staff, supported by Stantec Engineering, will continue to monitor the road conditions into next summer.
