Traffic Lights During Power Outage October 1, 2023

Please be advised that Synergy North has scheduled a city-wide power outage on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The power outage will affect all traffic lights in the City.
All traffic lights will be turned off before the power outage, and temporary stop signs will be placed at traffic signal intersections. Once power is restored, traffic lights will be turned back on, and signs removed.
Motorists are asked to proceed cautiously and obey the stop signs installed at intersections...
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day

In recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, all City facilities, with the exception of The Muse, will be closed on Saturday, September 30. The Moncrief Construction Sports Centre will open at 6:00 p.m. for the SIJHL hockey game.
On Monday, October 2, City Hall and Operations Centre will be closed to recognize the civic holiday.
City Staff are continuing their journey in learning the truth of our history, during Truth and Reconciliation Week through staff education participation....
First Avenue South Temporary Sidewalk Closure

Please be advised that a portion of the sidewalk on the west side of First Avenue South will be closed on Tuesday, September 26, and Wednesday, September 27, to accommodate site work at the Rotary Peace Park.
Please use the sidewalk on the east side of the street during this scheduled work. Signs will be in place to support the closure.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience as we complete the final stages of the beautiful new Rotary Peace Park.
Underwater Sanitary Main Replacement in Safety Bay

Please be advised that Moncrief Construction Limited (MCL) will be completing the replacement of an underwater sanitary main in Safety Bay from Monday, September 25 to Friday, September 29.
Boaters should proceed with reduced speeds and caution while travelling through Safety Bay as the Contractor and their divers complete the replacement.
We thank the public for their patience and cooperation during this reconstruction project.
Splash Park Closing for the Season

Please be advised that the last day of operation for the Rotary Splash Park will be Sunday, September 24.
City staff will begin winterizing the water features on Monday, September 25.
Thank you to Kenora Rotary Club for their ongoing support of the Splash Park.
We look forward to the re-opening in the spring of 2024.
