Highway 17 West and Lakeview Drive Roadside Maintenance

Please be advised that traffic will be reduced to one lane, or intermittently closed, on Wednesday, May 14, as per the following: 

• Beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Highway 17 West between St. Clair Street and May Avenue; and

• Beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Lakeview Drive, from 100 meters east of Parsons Street to 250 meters east of Parsons Street. 

Motorists are advised to proceed cautiously and follow traffic control.

What's Open, Closed This Victoria Day Holiday

On Monday, May 19, the Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All other City buildings and facilities are closed, including the Transfer Station, Kenora Public Library, The Muse, Operations Centre, City Hall, Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena, and Moncrief Construction Sports Centre.

The Wave, microtransit service, does not operate on the holiday.

Coney Island recycle and waste collection starts Tuesday, May 20.

Coker Road Closure Due to Increasing Water Levels

Please be advised that Coker Road from Kelly Road to the east side of Rice Bay will be closed tomorrow, Friday, May 9, due to the increasing water Level on Black Sturgeon Lake, specifically Rice Bay. The closure affects all vehicle and pedestrian traffic. 

The closure ensures the integrity of the road is maintained by preventing significant damage that could occur if travel on the Coker Road were to continue during this high water period.

Road Now Open at Veterans Drive Overpass Bridge

Please be advised that Veterans Drive, from Third Street North to the Harbourfront Roundabout, is now open to traffic.

Motorists can now travel through this area without restrictions.

Road Closure at Veterans Drive Overpass Bridge

Please be advised that Veterans Drive, from Third Street North to the Harbourfront Roundabout, will be closed today, Wednesday, May 7, for maintenance work on the overpass bridge conducted by CP.
