Easter Weekend Hours

Over the Easter Weekend, operating hours of City buildings and facilities change or modify to recognize the two statutory holidays, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

• City Hall and Operations Building are closed on Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21.

• There is no water delivery on Friday, April 18, nor Monday, April 21.

• The Kenora Public Library is closed on Friday, April 18 and Monday, April 21. 

• The Muse - The Lake of the Woods Museum and the Douglas Family Art Centre - is closed from Friday, April 18...

Sandbags Available

With the changing temperatures and participation patterns, residents may notice runoff from snow or ice, or water pooling near their homes. To support residents with controlling excess water, the City is providing sandbags for residents to fill and take home as needed. 

Sandbags can be picked up at Fire Hall Station One, 100 Fourteenth Street North. Sand is available to fill the bags at the stockpile on the North side of Fourteenth Street North, down from the Fire Hall, near the Operations Centre...

Lake of the Woods Cemetery Spring Clean-up

Please be advised that the Cemetery Staff has started the spring clean-up of the cemetery grounds in preparation for seasonal maintenance.

Clean up involves removing personal items from gravesites, including:

• Flowers or wreaths placed on graves from previous funeral services
• Glass containers, ceramic décor, and other breakable items
• Disheveled, damaged, faded, and broken items will be removed
• Stuffed animals
• Out of season décor, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Halloween

River Drive Temporary Road Closure

Please be advised that a section of River Drive, between 870 River Drive and 876 River Drive, will be closed to all traffic beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 14, for a water services line repair. 

Motorists are advised to use alternate travel routes during this time. 

Access to K-Sports Marine will be maintained from the east end of River Drive.

Load Restrictions In Effect March 23, 2025

Please be advised that effective Sunday, March 23, at 11:59 p.m., reduced load restrictions will be in effect as per the City of Kenora By-law 134-2021 and the Highway Traffic Act R.S.O. 1990, c. H. 8, Section 122. This restriction is necessary to protect highways, streets, and roads from damage during mild, wet spring conditions.
